Video Tutorial: Step-By-Step Tutorial: Bar Chart Step-By-Step Tutorial: Line Chart

Auto Series is valuable for bar and line charts because it automates data grouping, making trend analysis and category comparisons more efficient. It dynamically generates series for large datasets, eliminating the need for manual setup. By leveraging multiple data series, these charts reveal patterns and relationships that static tables or single-metric reports might miss. This makes Auto Series a powerful tool for scalable, data-driven visualizations.

Step-By-Step Tutorial: Bar Chart

A bar chart is used to compare different categories of data, helping to quickly see trends and differences. Adding Auto Series to a bar chart automatically organizes the data, making it easier and faster to work with, especially when there’s a lot of information.

  1. Begin by navigating to your report
  2. Select the menu icon on the bar chat that you wish to add a series to.
  1.  Select Edit
  1. Select Auto Series
  1. Select from the drop-down, your desired Series Column. You may pick any of the available options
  1. Now review the blocks details.

Note: In reviewing the block details, pay close attention to the Max group number. This number can range from 1 to 15, and if the quantity exceeds the selected value, the remaining items will be grouped under "Other."

  1.  Select OK
  1.  Review the Auto Series

Step-By-Step Tutorial: Line Chart

A line chart is used to show trends over time, making it easy to see how data changes. Applying Auto Series to a line chart automatically organizes the data into separate lines, saving time and helping to manage large or changing datasets more efficiently.

  1. Navigate to the desired report
  2. Select the menu icon for the line chart
  1. Select edit
  1. Select Auto Series
  1. Select the Date Column and pick which category you'd like them categorized by.
  1. Review the Blocks details

Note: In reviewing the block details, pay close attention to the Max group number. This number can range from 1 to 15, and if the quantity exceeds the selected value, the remaining items will be grouped under "Other."

  1. select ok
  1. refresh to reflect the series on the line chart
