Talk-To-Text Voice Dictation

Documenting on the fly is important to save time and ensure timely documentation. Enabling talk-to-text functionality on iOS and Android devices allows for convenient hands-free typing within the Healthy Roster platform. Following these steps, you can effectively utilize talk-to-text features on iOS and Android platforms, enhancing convenience and productivity in your daily communications.

Step-By-Step Tutorial: Enabling On iOS Devices

  1. Enable Dictation:
    • Open Settings.
       
  • Tap General > Keyboard.
     
  • Toggle on Enable Dictation.
     
  1. Use Voice-to-Text:
    • Add a note within Healthy Roster where necessary.
    • Tap the text field to bring up the keyboard.
       
  • Tap the microphone icon located in the lower right corner.
     
  • Begin speaking your message; your words will be transcribed into text.
     
  • Tap the microphone icon when finished dictating.
  • Review the dictation content.

Note: An internet connection is required for dictation to function on iOS.

Step-By-Step Tutorial: Enabling On Android Devices

  1. Ensure Voice Input is Enabled:
    • Open Settings.
    • Navigate to System/General Management > Languages & input.
    • Tap Virtual keyboard/On-Screen Keyboard.
    • Select Gboard (or your default keyboard).
    • Go to Preferences.
    • Ensure Voice input key is enabled.
  2. Use Voice-to-Text:
    • Add a note within Healthy Roster where necessary.
    • Tap the text field to activate the keyboard.
    • Tap the microphone icon on the keyboard.
    • Start speaking your message; it will appear as text in real-time.
    • Tap the microphone icon when finished dictating.
    • Review the dictation content.

Note: Many Android devices support offline voice recognition, allowing voice-to-text functionality without an internet connection.

 

Tips for Accurate Voice-To-Text:

  • Speak clearly and at a moderate pace.
  • Minimize background noise to enhance accuracy.
  • Review and edit the transcribed text to correct any inaccuracies.
